Your QNB Card can now be used at all international merchant websites that use 3D Secure and display the Mastercard Secure Code or Verified by Visa logo.

Online Security

Online Security: Useful tips to keep you safe online.

Sure, Internet Banking is a great and convenient way to remotely manage your finances, but with cybercrime on the rise, protecting yourself from cybertheft should be your top priority.

We highly recommend that you study the following tips. The list contains valuable information about online security and the issues you could encounter while banking online or using the Internet in general.

How to protect yourself online:

Keep your private information confidential

  • You should be cautious of people who ask for information such as your date of birth and ID number. Such information is only requested when you call our customer call center.

  • You should be cautious about sharing your private information on messaging services, in chat rooms or in emails, even if they are sent from people you know well

  • It is recommended not to share any personal or sensitive information (such as your password, PIN or credit card number) to parties

Be cautious about emails

  • Never access the QNB online banking site from a link in an email
  • QNB will never request your personal information or your password by email or SMS. If you receive an email forwarding you to a website that requests you to enter personal information or password, you should immediately call our customer call center and report the incident to the Bank

Use a complex and unique password that is different from your other passwords

  • You should avoid using the same password for Online Banking, social media, emails or other online access that require a password. This will minimize your risk of exposure and prevent fraudsters from easily guessing your password. If you forget your password, you can reset it by using the password reset link on the login page

Mobile Security

Protect your mobile phone and tablet devices

Your mobile devices may hold personal and sensitive information. It is recommended that you follow these guidelines to strengthen your security on mobile devices:

  • Set and use a security PIN code (to enable device-locking)
  • Adjust your phone’s settings to lock automatically if not used for 5/10 minutes
  • Don’t store passwords or sensitive information on your phone
  • Be wary of voicemail and text message scams. Clicking on links in text messages can be risky, so make sure the source of the messages and the sites you visit are authentic
  • Fraudsters create fake applications that look like legitimate ones. When you log on, they can steal your password, personal data and sensitive information. Make sure that applications are downloaded from trusted recognized app stores and sources
  • If you lose your phone, report it to your service provider immediately
