Overview
QNB 3D Secure is a free service that protects your card against unauthorized use and gives you peace of mind when shopping online.
It is the international standard for securing internet purchases, implemented and certified by Mastercard, and Visa that uses a personalized authentication method for identifying customers when they are using cards for online payments.
Your QNB Card can now be used at all international merchant websites that use 3D Secure and display the Mastercard ID Check or Visa Secure logos.
How does it work?
When you pay at an online store that displays the Mastercard ID Check or Visa Secure logo, you will receive a push notification prompting you to click to confirm the payment and:
- After you click the push notification, you will be automatically re-directed to QNB Mobile page,
- You can login with your username and password or with biometrics,
- You will be automatically re-directed to the 3D Secure page from the Cards menu where you will see the transaction details (masked card number, merchant name, transaction amount, transaction date and time),
- Review that the transaction details are correct then click on the Confirm button. Only confirm the transaction if you recognize this transaction’s details. If not, reject immediately and contact QNB.
- Go back to the merchant page where you will see the confirmation screen, provided that your card is valid and the account has sufficient balance.
If you have not received the push notification or have dismissed it, you can login to QNB Mobile then manually navigate to Cards – 3D Secure where you will see the transaction details and Confirm / Reject buttons.
Alternatively, you can request for One Time Password (OTP) by clicking on the required text in the 3D Secure authentication page then input the OTP after you receive it. In this case, in order to successfully use the OTP service, please update your mobile number every time there is any change. You can update your mobile number by calling our Customer Care Center or visiting any QNB branch.
